Every body is unique, and so are the needs that come with it. We honor the diversity of our community and the individuality of each person we support. Whether you’re working through chronic tension, living with hypermobility, navigating sensory differences, or simply seeking a more grounded approach to care—we are here to help you reconnect, restore balance, and reclaim your well-being.
We are a queer- and trans-owned, AAPI-led practice that recognizes the many ways trauma can live in the body. What sets us apart is our commitment to creating a space where every story, every identity, and every lived experience is honored. We approach care with the understanding that healing is not one-size-fits-all—your body’s history, resilience, and needs guide the process. Here, you are seen, heard, and supported as the expert of your own experience.
Who We Are
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Jodie Sung D.C.
(They/Them)
Dr. Jodie is the founder of Vital Connections Chiropractic, where they bring a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to care. They earned their Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College West after completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Health Sciences.
Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Jodie worked as an EMT in San Francisco and followed a sports medicine track. Through those experiences, they saw how often people longed for care that truly listened and recognized them as whole individuals. That insight inspired their commitment to building a practice grounded in compassion, safety, and connection.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Jodie has been a youth and high school lacrosse coach for many years, bringing the same dedication, encouragement, and body awareness to the athletes they support. Their background in sports, emergency medicine, and chiropractic care allows them to meet people where they are—whether navigating recovery from injury, living with chronic tension, or seeking a deeper connection with their body.
In their free time, Dr. Jodie finds joy in cooking (a true passion), spending time outdoors in community, and relaxing with their beloved rabbit, Cleo.
At Vital Connections Chiropractic, Dr. Jodie honors the uniqueness of every individual, with a special focus on serving queer and trans communities, young athletes, and anyone looking for care that truly sees them as a whole person.
